TRAINING
CENTRE IN AGRICULTURE AND ALLIED SUBJECTS:-
A
Training Center in agriculture and allied subjects is
the most ambitious project taken up by the Ashram so
far. It was started in the year 2004. 100 tribal youths
are trained in one batch to make them earn livelihood on
their own. It is proposed to train seven batches in one
year by experienced personnel. The various faculties are
as fallows:-

A)

Agronomy: Techniques for economy cultivation of paddy,
sunflower, corn, pulses etc for maximum production are
demonstrated to the students. |

B)
|
Horticulture: Practical
demonstration of growing of all types' vegetables,
banana, and mango, grapes with proper use of
fertilizers, pesticides and manures are implemented. |

|
C)
|
Apiary:
It is enjoyed upon the participants through theory and
live demonstration that bee keeping can be a very good
source of supplementary income with less effort and one
time investment.

D)
|
Dairy:
At
present the Ashram has 30 mixed breed cows, 20 cattle
and 15 heifers. Participants of training programmes are
shown how to manage dairy unit properly for income
generation purpose.

E)
|
Poultry:
The Ashrama is successfully running a poultry unit having 1000 birds at
present. The necessary techniques are imparted to the
participants.

F)
|
Pisciculture:
A large tank has been dug for the purpose over an area of A 2.00 dec.
Expertise regarding profitable pisciculture is imparted
through practical demonstration.

|
Duckery:
Ducks are also being reared by the Ashrama to serve as a source of
income and the participants are encouraged to adopt the
methods.

H)
|
Sericulture:
It will be shortly taken up for the first time in the Ashrama area.
Future participants will be benefited from this known
activity.

I)
|
Farm
Machinery Workshop: Necessary infrastructures have been put in place for
imparting skills of carpentry, wielding, repairing of
agricultural implements, and the lathe work to the
participants.

J)
|
Vermiculture:
In a unique effort improved compost making has been taken up to be used
as organic manures in the fields. This will help the
participants in enhancing the productivity of land in
use.
