Sri Ramakrishna
Ashrama is imbued with the unique ideas preached by
Swami Vivekananda of monasticism having the avowed goal
of service to humanity.
Presently the
following activities are being undertaken in right earnest
by the Ashrama. The Ashrama has two units. The Second
Unit is functioning at a distance of 3 kms from the
main Ashrama Building.
Allopathic
and Homoeopathic Mobile Dispensary :-
Two groups consisting of one doctor and one pharmacist
go around nearby and far off villages on alternate days.
Free medicine is made available to the needy villagers.
They cater to approximately 50 villages.

Old Age home :-
An Old Age Home with twenty five (25) inmates is functioning inside the main Ashrama premises. The inmates are from the most backward and poor families with no one to look after them. They are provided free bed, dress, food, medicine, care etc. It is a sight to see the joyous old men going through the daily chores including busing themselves with cutting of vegetables grown inside Ashrama premises and singing bhajans and listening to Bhagabata recitation. |

Tribal Boys
Hostel :-
Fifty (50) students from the poorest tribal families
are selected
for bringing up in the religious cultural atmosphere.Every
need of theirs’ is looked after to free. In addition,
free coaching class is conducted . They are also taught
religious ideas, prayers, Bhajans, and Kirtans. How
wonderful to see some of them performing evening aratrikam
with much devotion! It is specially taken care to foster
all around development of the boys.

Residental Innovative
Education Center :-
In an unique experiment carried out successfully, fifty school dropout
boys, who were working in the fields are brought up
and educated upto class V free. In addition they are
trained in modern farming in practical environment.
They are also imparted other vocational training to
help them earn livelihood in future. As part of cultural
training, teachers have been appointed to train them
in devotional music ( both traditional and folk ) and
kirtana. The families of the boys are given a stipend
of Rs.100/- each per month.

Agricultural
Training Center :-
An agricultural farm has been set up in an area of about
fifteen acres. All types of vegetables including Broccoli
and Lettuce are cultivated
using high yielding varieties of seed. These are sufficient
to meet the needs of Ashrama. Two trained personnel
from Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Ranchi are stationed to
look after the farming activities.They also go round
villages imparting advanced farming techniques and distributing
seeds, manures free to the farmers especially to the
unemployed youth. There is a proposal pending with the
Government of India to expand the activities of this
centre on the lines of Ranchi Ashrama. This centre along
with the Residential School is functioning in the Second
Unit of the Ashrama.

Drug Deaddiction Centre :-
The centre aims at freeing the poor people from the clutches of alcoholism and other forms of addiction through the use of audio visual shows, persuasion and personal rapport. A Fifteen bedded deaddiction centre is functioning since 2004. |
National Integration Camps :-
The Ashrama conducts National Integration Camps at least twice a year. It tries to foster the ideas of character building, service to the needy and helpless and patriotic feelings as per the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. College students from various parts of the state enthusiastically participate in the camps. |
Library With Reading Room :-
A free library with reading room consisting of 2000 titles is open to general public. Daily newspapers and magazines are provided to the readers. |

Celebration :-
Besides these, annual tithi pujas of Sri Ramakrishna, Maa Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda are celebrated in the Ashrama with much devotion. The National Youth Day and Youth Week are celebrated on Jan 12 and Jan 12 to 18 respectively on the occasion of the birth day of Swami Vivekananda with much gaiety and fanfare among the young participants from all over the state.
Birth days of all spiritual leaders are being held regularly to celebrate harmony of Religions.
Daily Bhagabata Patha and fornightly Bhagabata Parayanas are being organised inside the Ashrama premises. |
